In a powerful demonstration of unity, inclusivity, and digital innovation, Rohan Riley, President of Adventist-Laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) Inter-American Division (ASI-IAD), delivered a heartfelt New Year’s message to members across the region—in three languages: English, Spanish, and French.
The multilingual message, made possible through the strategic use of technology and simultaneous interpretation, was shared via video on January 1, setting the tone for a year of recommitment, collaboration, and Christ-centered service. The full video is available here: Watch on YouTube.
Speaking directly to ASI members, leaders, and supporters across more than 40 countries and territories in the Inter-American Division, President Riley emphasized the 2024 theme: “Empowered to Serve.” He encouraged members to embrace the call to ministry through their professions, businesses, and personal influence, reminding them that they are uniquely positioned to impact lives for Christ in both spiritual and practical ways.
"This is our time to shine—not for self-glory, but for God's glory," Riley affirmed. "As lay professionals, we are the hands and feet of Jesus in the marketplace."
By delivering the message in three of the division’s primary languages, the ASI-IAD President ensured that the entire ASI community—regardless of language or location—could connect with the vision for the year ahead. The effort reflects ASI-IAD’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and digital transformation as tools for mission.
This message also underscored the strategic leadership of Riley and his executive team in utilizing technology to unite a culturally and linguistically diverse membership under one common mission. The video format allowed for wider reach, accessibility, and engagement, particularly among younger members and digital audiences.
As ASI chapters across the region enter a new year of ministry and innovation, this trilingual message serves as both an encouragement and a challenge: to remain faithful, to serve boldly, and to build God's kingdom through every talent and opportunity entrusted to them.
